Scribe Book School, the video course

Scribe's step-by-step video course, from deciding whether to write a book to marketing it, with fill-in templates. It covers much of the same ground as The Scribe Method, in a different form. Here is what is in it and how it is offered today.

What it is
A video course in six modules.
Format
28 video lessons, plus a fear-solving worksheet, a book outline template and a writing and editing plan template.
Length
The page does not give a running time. Plan on several sittings.
What it asks
Your details; the course link is emailed to you.

Free or paid? What the page says today

When we checked on October 20, 2026, the page offered "the whole course, free": you enter your details and the link arrives by email. The same page's FAQ still talks about lifetime access "once you purchase," which suggests the course has been sold before, so the wording is mixed. We list it here as free because that is what the offer on the page says today. Check the page for the current terms before you sign up, and if it asks for payment, this entry is out of date and we would like to know.

What is in it

The six modules, as the course page lists them:

  1. The decision. Should you write a book? Define your objectives and know your audience.
  2. The foundation. Picking and developing a book idea, why positioning matters and how to do it, and two lessons on titles.
  3. The plan. Working through fear, and how to structure and outline the book. Includes the fear-solving worksheet and outline template.
  4. The execution. Writing and editing, with a writing and editing plan template.
  5. The production. Ten lessons on publishing: an overview, finding a cover designer, layout and interior design, images, ISBNs and barcodes, self-publishing, the paperback, pricing, the book description, and acknowledgments.
  6. The launch. An overview of book marketing, how to think about it, and using a book to get media coverage, podcast interviews and TV.

Who it is for

The course says it is "for authors, not writers," meaning people writing a book to help their main career: entrepreneurs, executives, consultants, coaches and speakers. It suits you if you learn better from video than from reading, and if you like to work with a template open beside you.

If you are a confident reader, The Scribe Method covers most of the same material without an email step, and you can jump straight to the chapter you need.

What you come away with

  • A start-to-finish process you can follow in order.
  • Three working documents: a fear-solving worksheet, an outline and a writing and editing plan.
  • More detail on publishing logistics (ISBNs, barcodes, images, the paperback) than the web chapters of the book give.

How to get the most from it

  • Do the first two modules before anything else, and fill in your positioning before you watch the outlining lessons. The course is built around positioning first.
  • Use the templates as you go. A lesson watched without the worksheet open tends to fade. The outline template is the one to finish.
  • Skip ahead only to Module 5 or 6 if you already have a finished manuscript. Otherwise go in order.
  • Pair it with the book. When a video moves fast, the matching chapter of The Scribe Method gives you something to reread.

Its honest limits

  • It overlaps heavily with The Scribe Method. You do not need both unless you want the templates or prefer video.
  • The offer wording is mixed, as above.
  • Your email goes to Scribe, which sells the services the course mentions. The FAQ on the course page describes those services and their starting price.
  • Like any course, it cannot make you finish. A writing plan and someone to report to do more for that than another video.

Before and after

Before: if you have not decided to write a book, the webinar or a few success stories are a lighter start.

After: once you have an outline, the write your first draft path picks up from there, and the publish your manuscript path when you finish.
